Every contract starts with a walk-through. We document entry points, parking areas, lighting, perimeter lines, and the hours that carry risk across the property's calendar , peak season looks different from the summer shoulder. For hotel and resort properties, that means understanding the busiest check-in and checkout windows, pool and common-area hours, and any events the property is hosting. For outdoor event work, it means a detailed venue map, access points, and an expected attendance number before we scope staffing. For gated communities and HOAs, it means the patrol route and access control points that fit that specific community.
Officers log patrol and access activity through our digital reporting system and write up incidents during the shift. A supervisor reviews every report, and you receive it on the schedule in the contract, with a same-shift phone call for anything serious. Palm Springs is a tourism economy first, and that shapes everything about security here. Greater Palm Springs runs on visitors, with hospitality driving close to two billion dollars a year in impact, a convention calendar that booked its strongest numbers since 2018, and signature events that pack the city, Modernism Week in February, the international film festival in January, ShortFest in June. The Coachella Valley has roughly 19,000 hotel rooms, and a large share of lodging is short-term vacation rentals, which means a lot of high-end homes sit empty between guests. The work here tends to be hotels and resorts, event and convention security, construction on new hospitality projects, and watching vacation properties when no one's in them. It's also seasonal, busy from the cooler months into spring, quieter in the summer heat.
How we staff a Palm Springs post depends on the property.
