A supervisor reviews the reports, and you receive them on the schedule set in the contract, with a same-shift phone call for anything serious. Let's start with the honest part, because for a distant market it matters most: we're a Southern California firm, not an Oakland one. More on that below. What we can speak to is the kind of security Oakland's economy actually calls for. The Port of Oakland is the busiest in Northern California and one of the city's largest economic engines, so port-adjacent logistics, trucking, and West Oakland industrial property drive a lot of the demand. Downtown is a harder story: office vacancy was around 17.6% at the end of 2025, the city has lost a large number of retail businesses since 2020, and many owners have been candid that public-safety concerns changed how they operate, with some increasing what they spend on security. It's not all one direction, though: the police department's 2025 figures showed commercial burglaries, car thefts, and carjackings all down sharply from the year before. The point is that demand for licensed, documented security here is real and specific.
On the kind of posts we'd handle, the approach follows the property.
