Licensed BSIS guards for commercial districts, warehouse hubs, and residential communities in central the Inland Empire
This is our home. ShieldWise Security operates out of an office at 7155 Dimaggio Street in Riverside, and that's not a marketing line , it's where our dispatch and supervision actually sit. It changes how we work in this city. Riverside isn't a generic Inland Empire town with one downtown and a ring of warehouses. It has a historic core around the Mission Inn, a fast-growing university zone, industrial parks on the edges, a regional mall on the west side, and a county civic center full of courts and offices. A plan that fits a distribution building near the 60 doesn't fit a property near UC Riverside or a building downtown. Local context is the whole job, and we know this one.
We're a California-licensed private patrol operator (PPO #122008). Our supervisors live here, most of our field officers come from the area, and when a post needs attention at an odd hour, the response runs through people who can actually get there. Most of the companies bidding on Riverside contracts are headquartered in Los Angeles or Orange County. Their officers commute in and their supervisors visit when they can. Ours don't commute, because this is where we're based.
Riverside spreads across roughly 81 square miles, and coverage needs change a lot depending on the district.
Older buildings, mixed foot traffic, and a heavy calendar of public events around the convention center, the Cheech Marin Center, and the historic courthouse. Officers here need to be comfortable with the public and with city services, not just standing a post.
Student housing, retail along University Avenue, and mixed-use buildings near campus. With around 26,000 students and a fast-growing campus, demand moves with the academic calendar , we plan staffing around the quarter system, move-in weeks, and breaks.
A regional mall pulling shoppers from across the county. Loss-prevention coordination, parking-lot patrol, and after-hours coverage are the usual needs.
Light industrial, distribution, and flex space needing access control and overnight coverage, plus courts, county administration, and professional offices in the county civic center where a steady professional presence matters.
Every contract opens with a site walk-through, and because we're local, we can usually do it within a day or two of your call. We document the property, map entry points, review any prior incident history, and write post orders for that specific location. Officers are assigned by post type, not shuffled interchangeably , a retail post and an overnight industrial post are different jobs and we staff them that way. Officers document incidents in writing during the shift, a supervisor reviews the reports, and you receive them on the schedule we agree to in the contract. Serious incidents get a phone call the same shift.
Downtown Riverside runs a steady event calendar, and the surrounding district sees crowds, road closures, and parking pressure on event days. We provide event and venue-adjacent staffing for properties and organizers who need access control, parking management, and a visible presence around scheduled events. We'll be straight about crowd sizes a given staffing level can responsibly handle, because under-staffing an event is a liability, not a saving.
ShieldWise operates under California BSIS Private Patrol Operator license #122008. Every officer completes the BSIS Power to Arrest course and the required guard-card skills training, carries a valid guard card on every shift, and completes site-specific training where the post calls for it. Armed posts are staffed only where the contract requires it and the officer holds a valid BSIS exposed firearm permit, and we'll tell you honestly whether armed coverage actually adds value for your property or just adds cost.
ShieldWise Security is fully insured, including general liability, workers' compensation, commercial auto, and excess liability coverage. Certificates of insurance are available upon request, and additional-insured endorsements can be provided when required by contract. We are a member of CALSAGA, the California Association of Licensed Security Agencies, Guards & Associates, and a member of the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce.
A note on emergencies: ShieldWise Security provides private security services. We do not provide police, medical, fire, or emergency first-responder services. In an active emergency, always call 911 first.
"Riverside is our home city, and that changes everything about how we work here. We know the districts , the event calendar downtown, the quarter-system rhythm near UCR, the overnight risk window in the industrial parks. When a client calls at 11 p.m. about a problem at a Riverside site, we're not dispatching from across the county. We're a few miles away."

Riverside is home for us, so this is the one page where we can talk about the city the way people who actually work here do. Our office is on Dimaggio Street, off the 91 on the west side, and the supervisors who run our posts live in and around the city. That changes what we can promise: when a site manager in Riverside needs a supervisor to show up, it's a short drive, not a regional dispatch from somewhere else. We know the difference between a quiet night up in Canyon Crest and a Festival of Lights weekend downtown, when the Mission Inn and the pedestrian mall are packed and parking turns over all night.
Riverside's security needs run across a few worlds at once. There's the historic downtown civic core, the county courthouse and offices, the Convention Center and the Fox, with the public foot traffic and event crowds that come with them. There's UC Riverside and the housing, retail, and services that ring it. And there's the logistics spine along the 215 and the 91 toward the ports, with the warehouses and industrial parks of areas like Hunter Park. A retail and event property downtown is a crowd-management and visible-presence job; a distribution yard off the 215 is an access-control and timed-patrol job. We'd rather set patrol rounds on timing that shifts so nobody learns the gaps, and log every round on GuardTrac, than post a static guard and hope. We walk the property and write post orders to it before we quote, and because this is our home city, we can do that walk-through fast.
A genuine opinion, since this is our backyard: for most downtown retail and mixed-use property here, a consistent, familiar, well-trained unarmed officer who builds a rapport with the tenants and the regulars does more for real safety than a rotating cast, or an armed officer the site doesn't actually need. Armed posts are a specific decision based on the property and the threat, staffed with a California exposed-firearm permit holder, not an upsell.
What we don't do: our unarmed officers observe, document, and escalate to law enforcement; they don't physically intervene in violence, and no guard replaces the police. Every officer carries a current BSIS guard card and the Power to Arrest and other training California requires under Title 16 of the Code of Regulations. We're licensed by the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services as a Private Patrol Operator, PPO #122008, we're bonded and insured, and we're a member of CALSAGA, the statewide trade association for licensed security agencies. Our office and our people are here in Riverside.
This is where ShieldWise is based, and our officers and supervisors work here daily. We cover the historic downtown civic core, the Mission Inn and Convention Center area, UC Riverside, the Hunter Park industrial area, commercial properties along Van Buren Boulevard, and residential and senior shelter facilities across the city, with coverage extending along the SR-91 and I-215 corridors. Our current Riverside work includes security patrol and unarmed guard services for properties on Van Buren and for senior shelters in the area. For clients here we provide armed and unarmed patrol, mobile patrol, fire watch, event security, access control, and written shift logs reviewed by a supervisor.

(714) 716-7430 Get a Free QuoteRiverside's commercial corridors, distribution hubs, and residential communities each carry different patrol and access-control profiles. The walk-through documents what applies to this specific property before the post order is written.
We document entry points, lighting, blind spots, prior incident history if the property has it, and the hours that actually carry risk.
From that walk-through we write post orders specific to the site, so the officer is not improvising.
Officers log patrol activity through our GuardTrac digital reporting system and write up incidents during the shift, not after.
A supervisor reviews those reports, and you receive them on the schedule set in the contract.
For anything serious, you get a phone call the same shift, not a summary three days later.
