Security Guard Services in Albany, CA

Albany is a compact city built around the Solano Avenue retail district and the edge of UC Berkeley. It's small and walkable, so the security work is mostly small-business coverage, foot-traffic management on the retail strip, and residential patrol on the quiet blocks behind it.

What we protect in Albany

How we work here

A small, walkable city rewards officers who read situations well. Most of what happens on a retail strip is minor, and the right response is presence and judgment, not confrontation. We de-escalate, document, and escalate to police when warranted. Retail clients get site-specific post orders and a daily report.

Why hire a guard in Albany

Walkable districts are good for business and good cover for petty theft. A visible officer keeps Solano Avenue feeling safe without changing its character, which matters in a neighborhood that trades on being friendly.

Our Approach

What we actually do on an Albany post

Every contract starts with a walk-through, then a written plan built around the hours that actually carry risk. Here is how that runs from day one.

Step 1

Site walk-through

We document entry points, lighting, blind spots, prior incident history if the property has it, and the hours that actually carry risk.

Step 2

Written post orders

From that walk-through we write post orders specific to the site, so the officer isn't improvising.

Step 3

Logged on shift

Officers log patrol activity through our GuardTrac digital reporting system and write up incidents during the shift, not after.

Step 4

Supervisor review

A supervisor reviews those reports, and you receive them on the schedule set in the contract.

Step 5

Same-shift contact

For anything serious, you get a phone call the same shift, not a summary three days later.

Licensing and compliance

  • California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services Private Patrol Operator license #122008
  • Every officer completes the BSIS Power to Arrest course and the skills training required for the California guard card
  • Valid guard card carried on every shift, plus any site-specific training the post requires
  • Armed officers work only where the contract calls for it and where the officer holds a valid BSIS exposed firearm permit
  • Licensed, bonded, and insured, with current documentation available to a property manager or general contractor on request
  • Member of CALSAGA, the California Association of Licensed Security Agencies, Guards & Associates
