Licensed BSIS guards for entertainment studio campuses, commercial property, and residential communities in Los Angeles County
Burbank works differently from almost anywhere else in Los Angeles County, and the security here follows from that. This is the city where the Walt Disney Company keeps its headquarters and where Warner Bros. has run its studio lot on Warner Boulevard for nearly a hundred years. The Burbank Media District concentrates production, post-production, and the offices and vendors that orbit them. Add Hollywood Burbank Airport, the Empire Center retail district, and Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center, and you get a commercial environment built around media production, airport-adjacent operations, and steady retail. ShieldWise Security provides licensed guard and patrol coverage across Burbank, with the staffing matched to the property type rather than applied the same way everywhere.
One thing to be clear about up front: ShieldWise does not operate inside studio facilities. The studios run their own security operations. What we cover is the large surrounding inventory , the production-support offices, post-production buildings, vendor spaces, hotels, retail, and the commercial and residential properties that fill in the rest of the city.
Production-support offices, post-production facilities, and commercial inventory serving the media district along Riverside Drive, Olive Avenue, and Alameda Avenue. We cover these surrounding properties; we do not work inside the studio lots.
Commercial buildings, hotels, and supporting properties around BUR, where access control and a professional, predictable presence are the priority.
A regional retail anchor with the restaurant and service activity that follows it, where foot traffic and parking patterns run on a daily and weekend rhythm. Plus the San Fernando Boulevard commercial corridor near the Metrolink station.
Hospital-adjacent and medical-office buildings where coverage leans toward steady access management and a calm presence, plus corporate office corridors along Empire Avenue and Olive Avenue serving media-adjacent tenants.
Production-support offices and corporate buildings serving media tenants carry expectations closer to a corporate or creative-services setting than to a standard retail post. That means structured visitor management, vendor and delivery coordination, and access control that's tight without being heavy-handed. Officers assigned to these properties are briefed on appearance, conduct, and coordination consistent with that environment. The Empire Center and airport-area properties run on a different profile, with parking flow and public foot traffic driving the staffing plan. We set the scope for each during the walk-through rather than assuming one model fits the whole city.
Every contract starts with a walk-through. We document the property, map entry points and risk hours, review any prior incident history, and write post orders specific to the site. Officers log patrol activity through our GuardTrac digital reporting system and write up incidents during the shift. A supervisor reviews the reports, and you receive them on the schedule set in the contract, with a same-shift phone call for anything serious. For construction and tenant-improvement sites, common in a city that's constantly rebuilding, we provide access logging and patrols, plus fire watch with documented rounds when a permit or a system outage requires it.
ShieldWise Security operates under California BSIS Private Patrol Operator license #122008. Every officer completes the BSIS Power to Arrest course and the required guard-card skills training, carries a valid guard card on shift, and completes any property-specific training the post requires. Armed posts are staffed only where the contract requires it and where the officer holds a valid BSIS exposed firearm permit; for many corporate, retail, and medical properties, unarmed coverage is the right call. We're licensed, bonded, and insured, with documentation available on request, and we're a member of CALSAGA ShieldWise is headquartered in the city of Riverside, and we serve Burbank as part of our Los Angeles County coverage , we'd rather say that plainly than pretend otherwise.
A note on emergencies: ShieldWise Security provides private security services. We do not provide police, medical, fire, or emergency first-responder services. In an active emergency, always call 911 first.

"Burbank's security work spans two very different environments , the media district's corporate and creative-services offices, where the brief is tight access control and a professional presence, and the Empire Center and BUR airport area, where the priority is parking flow and public foot traffic. We scope each property separately, not the whole city the same way."

Burbank's risk profile doesn't look like anywhere else in Los Angeles County. This is the media capital, with well over a thousand entertainment and media companies inside the city limits, the Disney and Warner Bros. campuses, the soundstages in the Media District, and the post-production houses scattered through the Golden State District near Hollywood Burbank Airport. Most of what's worth protecting here isn't cash in a register. It's an unreleased cut, a script, equipment on a stage, and controlled access to a working lot. The 2023 strikes also left a lot of office and stage space sitting empty, and a vacant or under-leased media building carries its own problem: an address that looks dark is an easier target than one that's busy.
On a soundstage or post-production post, we build the job around access control and a strict visitor-escort rule rather than a roving guard, because the threat to a production usually isn't a smash-and-grab. It's an unbadged person standing in an edit bay or on a stage where footage that hasn't aired yet is sitting on a drive. We write post orders around production hours and lock-up, we log entries and patrols on GuardTrac with timestamps, and on a building that's gone quiet between leases we'd rather run scheduled interior and perimeter checks than leave it to a camera nobody's watching.
Here's the honest part about where we're based. ShieldWise is a California-licensed Private Patrol Operator, PPO #122008, headquartered in Riverside. We're not headquartered in Burbank, and we don't keep a Burbank yard or a local crew who grew up on these streets. Are we based in Burbank? No. We cover Burbank on a contract and project basis, on the strength of a license that's valid statewide, and if a closer local firm is the better fit for a small recurring post, we'll say so. Our officers hold current BSIS guard cards under Title 16 CCR, armed officers carry the BSIS exposed-firearm permit, and we're a member of CALSAGA, the statewide trade association for licensed security agencies.
What we don't do: we don't provide celebrity close protection or bodyguard work. That's a different specialty, and we'll refer it out. And our unarmed officers observe, document, and escalate; they don't physically intervene in an active-violence situation.

We document entry points, lighting, blind spots, prior incident history if the property has it, and the hours that actually carry risk.
From that walk-through we write post orders specific to the site, so the officer is not improvising.
Officers log patrol activity through our GuardTrac digital reporting system and write up incidents during the shift, not after.
A supervisor reviews those reports, and you receive them on the schedule set in the contract.
For anything serious, you get a phone call the same shift, not a summary three days later.
